The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in Central Visayas in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) conducted the Training of Trainers on Digital Agriculture Course (TOT-DAC) Batch 1 at the ATI-7 Government Complex, Cabawan District, Tagbilaran City, Bohol on February 21-23, 2024. 

Fifteen (15) pairs of farmers and youth from Cebu and Bohol actively participated and completed the activity.

This course will complement the Farmer Field School (FFS) as it aims to capacitate and prepare Farm School representatives to implement a digital literacy training for farmers in their respective areas. 

Sharing the same goal and vision with ATI and Smart Communications, Inc.'s Digital Farmers Program (DFP), the Digital Agriculture Course under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) will make use of the DFP modules and incorporate the promotion of rice-related agriculture applications and tools such as the Rice Crop Manager, AgriDOC app, Binhing Palay, Rice Doctor, and Pinoy Rice Knowledge Bank among others. 

Comprising the pool of trainers are Shanemie Carelle D. Pradera, Information Officer II who is also the Project Officer together with Engr. Jonathan O. Sumagang, Development Management Officer II at the same time Rice Focal Person, Ms. May Joy P. Luzon, Technical Staff, Aimy B. Sentorias, Agricultural Technologist of the Office of the Municipal Agriculture, LGU-Corella, Bohol and Jay Mar J. Masibay, Project Development Officer II, DICT-Region 7.
