Farmer members from Siquijor Rice Seed Growers Association participated in the Digital Farmers Program - Farm Learn held at Larena, Siquijor along with their youth counterparts on March 11-13, 2025
The Digital Farmers Program aims to equip farmers with a comprehensive understanding of the significance and advantages of Smart Agriculture Technology (SAT). The program seeks to demonstrate how these innovative technologies can be seamlessly integrated into every stage of the farming process, from planting to harvesting.
By leveraging cutting-edge agriculture apps such as Plant Doctor, Smarter Pest and Disease Identification Technology (SPIDTECH), Binhing Palay, e-Damuhan, Payong Pag-asa, GPS Field Measure App, and Leaf Color Chart (LCC), the initiative intends to empower farmers to optimize their agricultural practices, enhance productivity, and reduce resource wastage.
Ultimately, the goal is not only to boost the efficiency and sustainability of farming but also to cultivate a new generation of smart farmers who are well-versed in the latest technological advancements, leading to improved livelihoods, economic growth, and long-term agricultural resilience.
The training course was completed by 33 farmer leaders and youth from various municipalities in Siquijor.
