DUMAGUETE CITY, NEGROS ORIENTAL. Considering the value of meat and dairy products derived from domesticated animals, the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center (ATI-RTC) VII, through the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP), conducted the Training of Trainers on Goat Production and Management on July 31– August 04, 2023, at Manhattan Suites Inn, this city.

Twenty people, consisting of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs), Community Development Officers, and Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) Cooperators, from several municipalities and cities in the region attended the five-day program.

Resource persons from the ATI-RTC 7, Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), and the Visayas State University delivered the topics on CFIDP Briefer by Rosalinda P. Arbon;  Integrated Diversified Organic Farming System by Mr. Andrew M. Macaambac; Introduction to native chicken, Native chicken production and Housing of native chicken by Mr. Moises Zem F. Jayectin, and Hormonal profile of the female reproductive system, Infectious Diseases causing Reproductive Disorders in Large Ruminant, Major Ovarian Diseases and Treatment, Ovarian Palpation: Graafian Follicles, Corpus Luteum, Breeding Improvement, System/Genetic by Carl Leonard M. Pradera, DVM.

“Maayo kayo ang akong ika sulti sa maong training nga akong na apilan kay daghan kong nakat-onan sa maong training sama sa porga sa kanding ug pag ingic sa kanding ug pagligo. Sa akong mga kauban sa training puro sila mga buotan  gawas nga boutan sila gwapa ug gwapo. Kabahin sa mga gi-discuss, ok ra kayo kay maayo sila mopa sabot,” says Jerry P. Licanda, Sr., one of the participants and a farmer – LGU Manjuyod, Negros Oriental.
