ATI CALABARZON, PLDT-Smart turn over FarmTech package to Habilin Farms

TAYABAS CITY, Quezon – Through the support of the DA- Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON, PLDT-Smart turned over its FarmTech Package to Habilin Farms located in Brgy. Ilayang Bukal in this city on November 4.

Aiming to foster digital inclusion in agriculture, the said learning site for agriculture (LSA) received mobile phones, sound system, portable projector, tablets, and flash drives that they will utilize in facilitating training sessions on digital agriculture for farmers in their locality.

As part of the turnover ceremony, DA-ATI CALABARZON Center Director Dr. Rolando V. Maningas led the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between the DA-ATI CALABARZON and Habilin Farms through its owner Mr. Ben Francia.

“We are committed to delivering training programs. Ang technology ay 'di balakid, kundi isang valuable tool para makamit natin ang aspirations ng farmers and communities,” Mr. Francia said.

Present also during the turnover ceremony were Ms. Maridelle Jaurigue (Information Services Section Chief) from DA-ATI CALABARZON; and representatives from PLDT-Smart including Ms. Lai Asilo (Stakeholder Management Specialist), Ms. Joy Lapuz (Luzon Relations Head), Mr. John Alex Banawa (Digital Specialist), and Mr. Arman Garcia (Enterprise Head). Tayabas City Agriculture Office and Quezon Office of the Provincial Agriculturist expressed their support for the program through their representatives who personally graced the ceremony.

PDLT-Smart has been collaborating with DA-ATI to provide technology access to farmers, especially in far-flung areas, and enable them to harness technology in pursuit of livelihood.
