TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – Aiming to strengthen the engagement of women in agriculture by introducing an innovative and potential agribusiness venture, the DA-ATI CALABARZON convened 30 women from various farms and farmer associations in the region for Abante Juana sa Agrikultura: Seminar on Fruit Dehydration for Women in Agribusiness.

The kick-off activity was held at the DA-ATI CALABARZON Training Hall in Trece Martires City on March 6, and continued at Bounty Harvest Farm in Indang, Cavite on March 7.

Forming a part of the Center's Serbisyo Para Kay Juana, the program is designed in support of the National Women's Month Celebration 2025 that featured all-women participants and resource persons, underscoring the empowerment of one another.

“Sa pamamagitan ng gawaing ito, hangarin po namin na mas maipakita pa ang kakayahan at lakas ng kababaihan upang magtagumpay at manguna sa anumang larangan, lalo na sa agrikultura,” said Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, DA-ATI CALABARZON Center Director, during the opening program.

The participants also gained hands-on experience in fruit dehydration through a live demonstration at Bounty Harvest Farm. Ms. Amihan Crooc (farm operator) and Ms. Celia Erni (postharvest processing consultant) showcased their fruit dehydration facilities and equipment and inspired the participants on how the farm’s venture started and grew.

During the closing program, DA-ATI CALABARZON Asst. Center Dir. Sherylou Alfaro highlighted the strength, significant contributions, and empowering role of women in agriculture.
