NAGCARLAN, Laguna – As part of the Binhi ng Pag-asa Program (BPP), 30 youth from different towns in Laguna were equipped with leadership, agripreneurial, and related skills as they completed the three-day “Provincial Training of Trainers for BPP” held on June 26-28, at Gintong Bukid Farm and Leisure.
BPP was implemented by the DA – Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), in partnership with the Office of Sen. Grace Poe, to empower young people to become competent agripreneurs and motivate them through leadership and values formation training. The program’s approach is the conduct of a localized series of training at the community level.
In that regard, 30 completers are set to facilitate similar three-day training in their locality for fellow youth, specifically young farmers, Agriculture students, and youth leaders alike.
A total of 430 youth beneficiaries will be trained and provided with extension services until October this year.
Among topics covered with corresponding hands-on activities were leadership and values formation, agripreneurship, social media marketing, and agricultural technologies for basic free-range chicken production and management, urban and organic vegetable production.
This year, Laguna was one of the three provinces in the country that were selected as program beneficiaries. Thus, ATI CALABARZON is carrying out capability-building activities and provision of extension support, as major components of the BPP.
Meanwhile, Gintong Bukid Farm and Leisure is a certified Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) by ATI CALABARZON.
