TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite — ‘Let’s get into bees-ness and bee an entrepreneur’ has become the mantra of 26 farmers and agricultural extension workers (AEWs) during the three-day Honey to Money: Training on Bee Products and By-products Processing.

Aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills in the standard processing and handling of bee products and by-products, the training encouraged them to engage in opportunities in the apiary industry as a lucrative venture.

To reinforce learning, participants crafted various bee product-based items, including lip balm, soap, wound dressing, wood polish, ointment, liniment, creamed honey, and honey infusion. They also engaged in the hands-on extraction of honey, pollen,  and propolis.

Gaining practical insights into the beekeeping industry, participants visited the Cavite State University’s Bee Research, Innovation, Trade, and Extension (BRITE) Center and Los Pepes Farm in Indang, Cavite, for a benchmarking activity.

The training was facilitated by the DA-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON from April 2-4, 2025, at the Center’s Training Hall.
