PADRE GARCIA, Batangas — To enhance the knowledge and skills of DA-ATI CALABARZON’s extension partners, MoCa Family Farm Rlearning Center Inc., located at Brgy. Castillo in this town, conducted the “Training on Harnessing Creativity and Innovation on Product Development” from March 11-13, 2025.

The activity aimed at responding to the needs of participants for practical learning about value addition, branding, marketing, and pricing strategies, and ultimately helping them develop innovative products that can be another source of income.

Staff from the said farm served as resource persons in the three-day activity wherein the participants also experienced hands-on activities on value addition and product development.

DA-ATI CALABARZON Center Director Dr. Rolando V. Maningas extended his appreciation to MoCa, one of the Private Agriculture and Fisheries Extension Service Providers (PAF-ESP), for initiating the activity.

He also thanked the extension partners who devoted their time to enhancing their knowledge and skills and expressed that his dream for the participants is that they will be able to export their products and be known not only in the country but also abroad.  He also challenged them to dream big for their farms.

“The [training] has been a fertile ground for nurturing our creative thinking, with the SCAMPER method serving as a guiding tool to unlock fresh perspectives and new possibilities. This approach has illustrated the path to understanding the true essence of our products, empowering us to think outside the box.  In preservation techniques, your guidance has illuminated the science behind transforming a simple raw ingredient into a multiple of unique and healthy products. We now appreciate the intricate process involved in creating such remarkable results. By combining many minds, we can produce something truly delightful,” said Ms. Ira Bonavente, one of the participants, during the closing ceremony.

MoCa School Dir. Gigi Pontejos-Morris challenged the participants to utilize their knowledge and skills gained through this training to develop their produce into innovative and creative products.
