In line with the Department of Agriculture’s (DA) initiative to modernize swine farms, the DA-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON successfully conducted a “Training on Swine Production System Mechanization.” The activity aimed to improve farm operations through mechanization and equip farmers with modern farming techniques.
Held from October 16 to 18, 2024, at Don Leon Nature Farms Inc. in San Juan, Batangas, the training included a benchmarking tour at the newly constructed INSPIRE facility of the Community-Based Animal Technicians (CBAT) in Brgy. Pulangbato, San Juan, Batangas. The tour allowed participants to observe advanced farming practices firsthand.
Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, Center Director of DA-ATI CALABARZON, visited the event and highlighted the crucial role of mechanization in improving the efficiency of the livestock sector. Ms. Vira Elyssa L. Jamolin, Chief of the Career Development and Management Services (CDMS), delivered a message during the closing program, expressing her appreciation to the Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) for their dedication to supporting local livestock farmers.
The event, facilitated by the CDMS, marks another step in the DA’s commitment to advancing livestock production through innovation and technology.
