ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal – Aiming to establish a Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) in their community, 47 active participants attended the first phase of the “Training of Trainers on the Participatory Guarantee System” held at MARIWSKA Integrated Farm, Brgy. San Jose in this city.
From October 21-25, 2024, the DA-Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON, in collaboration with the DA-Regional Field Office IV-A and the Antipolo City Agriculture Office, conducted the said activity which was driven by Marikina Watershed Kaysakat Association, Inc. (MARIWSKA) members.
Ms. Mamalyns C. Dion, Antipolo City Agriculturist, was present during the opening program and stressed that the local government unit of Antipolo City is in full support of the aspirations of the group.
PGS specialists Mr. Arnaldo P. Gonzales, Mr. Marianito E. Mendoza Jr., Mr. Jun Villarante, Ms. Lielani L. Galanido, and Ms. Soledad E. Leal served as resource persons throughout the five-day activity.
“I have attended several training, but this one truly stands out. The trainers were not only highly knowledgeable but also made sure we understood the topics and enjoyed the entire experience,” shared Mr. James Palerion, one of the participants.
In a recorded video message, DA-ATI CALABARZON Center Director Dr. Rolando V. Maningas extended his congratulations to the participants and expressed gratitude to DA-RFO IV-A as well as to the City Agriculture Office of Antipolo for their support for the group.
The second phase of this training is scheduled in December, allowing the said PGS group to begin their certification applications early next year.
The said training program was facilitated by the Partnerships and Accreditation Section (PAS) of the DA-ATI CALABARZON.
