Turning Ideas into Action: SEEDS Phase 3 Training on Project Proposals Development and Management

Agricultural extension workers are pivotal in connecting farmers with agricultural research, technology, and best practices. Equipping these workers with the skills to develop comprehensive project proposals is essential for addressing agricultural sector challenges and promoting sustainable development. Recently, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I) organized a SEEDS in Agriculture Phase 3: Training on Project Proposal Development and Management on April 22-26, 2024, at ATI-RTC I, Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

Thirty five (35) participants gained knowledge, skills, and the right attitude to craft agriculture and fisheries extension projects in their municipalities. Through lectures discussions and workshops, they learned about project proposal development, its significance, and essential elements. The workshop enabled them to create winning proposals with catchy titles, which were later presented and critiqued by a panel of experts. Participants refined their proposals based on the feedback received.

This training is part of the SEEDS in Agriculture’s third phase. Prior phases focused on instilling fundamental concepts of extension work and practical skills development through community engagement. This program aims to empower extension workers to implement effective and sustainable agricultural projects in their communities.

In conclusion, the training provided valuable opportunities for AEWs to enhance their project proposal development skills, contributing to the overall improvement and development of the agricultural sector.
