Commitment to Growth: Regional Partners Map Out Livestock Plans for 2025–2027

To harmonize procedures for livestock programs for 2025 to 2027, assess the effectiveness of current Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), and advocate for future initiatives, the Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center I (ATI-RTC I), in partnership with various agencies and stakeholders, organized a strategic planning activity on April 24, 2025, at the International Convention Center, DMMMSU-NLUC, Bacnotan, La Union.

The event served as a platform for representatives to present their 2024 accomplishments, 2025 targets, and indicative plans for 2026. Among the presenters were Ms. Abigail Bayaua of DA-RFO I, Ms. Jackielyn Garlet of ITCPH (via virtual participation), Ms. Kedesh Mae Dagdagan of the National Dairy Authority – Northern Luzon, Dr. Cherrie Ann T. Javier of NMIS RTOC 1, Ms. Vilma C. Gagni of the Philippine Carabao Center at DMMMSU, Dr. Arcely G. Robeniol from the Provincial Veterinary Office – Pangasinan, and Dr. Domingo Bobby Calub III from the Provincial Veterinary Office – La Union.

The activity opened with an overview by Project Officer Ms. Almera M. Montano, followed by a welcome message from DMMMSU Chancellor Dr. Junifer Tabafunda and an inspirational address from ATI-RTC I Center Director Dr. Jayvee Bryan G. Carillo. Ms. Galilee L. Padua hosted the event and introduced the 2025 PPAs (Shoplist), while Engr. Mariel A. De Vera shared updates on SMF, SWAIB projects, and SIRP.

Open forum and breakout sessions allowed participants to collaboratively identify key issues, challenges, strengths, and training needs to be addressed in the 2026–2027 planning cycle.

The activity concluded with a symbolic commitment pledge, during which participants signed leaves to affirm their support for livestock program implementation. Key outcomes included the consolidation of agency accomplishments and forward plans, recognition of implementation gaps and training requirements, and strengthened commitments from local government units to support livestock initiatives in the years ahead.
