Level-up for 4-H Campback

Nurturing the youth and unleashing their full potentials, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1) conducted the 7th Regional Youth Camp on August 27-29, 2022 at ATI-RTC 1, Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

With this year’s theme, “4H Level-Up! Leading Excellence in Agriculture through Viable Innovations, Empowering Leaders and Unleashing 4-H Potential”, various activities were done during the camp and served as learning avenue to over 100 4-H members, municipal/provincial coordinators, and member of the Volunteer Leaders Association of the Philippines (VLAP) in region 1.

During the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Mark Roy Macanlalay delivered the message of the Governor of Pangasinan, Hon. Ramon V. Guico III. Mr. Macanlalay emphasized on his message the vital role of the youth in community development. Present also during the ceremony were Pangasinan Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Dalisay A. Moya, ATI-RTC 1 Center Director Dr. Rogelio C. Evangelista, and Assistant Center Director Dr. Josephine K. Aben.

Meanwhile, the Candle Lighting ceremony was one among the highlights of the activity, where Dr. Gerald Quinit, former President of the Pinablin 4-H Calasiao and owner of the Quinit Integrated Livestock and Poultry Farm located at Brgy. Buenlag, Calasiao, Pangasinan, was invited as guest speaker.

“Each one of us can serve, we can make ourselves relevant in our community, we can bring out changes, we can find ways to contribute in uplifting the lives of our fellowmen”, Dr. Quinit said as he inspired the participants by sharing his achievements and accomplishments as a 4-H member.

In addition, variety of contests were done, such as Lakan at Lakambini ng 4-H; National Achievers Award 2021; Innovative Organic Fertilizer Production; Singing Contest; Promotional Video Making Contest; and 4-H Debate. These competitions showcased different talents and skills of 4H members. Their creativeness and innovativeness were also seen during team building and leadership activities which were facilitated by VLAP members.

The regional youth camp is one of the most awaited events of 4-H clubs in the region. This activity provides each member of the organization with life-changing learnings and experiences coupled with fun activities. This is also an opportunity to select who among the regional delegates will be representing the region in the 4-H National Convention.
