To supplement the interventions and support to the beneficiaries of rice postharvest machineries under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF), the Agricultural Training Institute—Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1), in coordination with the DA-Regional Field Office I, conducted the Training on Rice Postharvest Technology on September 23 to 27, 2024, at ATI-RTC I, Tebag East, Santa Barbara, Pangasinan.
Thirty-five (35) participants coming from the State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and learning sites for agriculture completed the five-day training with bolstered knowledge and skills on different technologies and practices on the proper use of postharvest machines.
Participants had a practicum on the use and operation of drying and milling machineries at Agricultural Infrastructure and Leasing Corporation (AILC), Brgy Amancosiling, Bayambang and Arenas Farm in Manaoag, Pangasinan. The participants’ action plans manifested their commitment to share their knowledge to fellow farmers on proper postharvest management through Farmer Field School.
It is hoped that through this undertaking, the beneficiaries will be able to reduce their losses, enhance quality of harvest and ultimately boost their production and income.
This training, on the other hand, received accreditation from the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program, offering 19 points.
