
The Swine Artificial Insemination sa Barangay Project (SWAIB) at Hacienda Quinitio Integrated Farm in Infanta, Pangasinan was officially Inaugurated on February 17, 2025. The project aims to enhance local swine production and promote rural agricultural sustainability through a comprehensive approach that includes capacity building, extension support, and animal health services.



As part of its expansion, the project introduced new facilities, including a farm office, laboratory, and specialized equipment for processing and storing boar semen. The project also includes 10 high-quality boars comprising 6 grandparent (GP) boars and 4 terminal boars intended to improve the genetic quality of the local swine population. These boars will be housed in a climate-smart animal facility designed to ensure optimal animal health and productivity.


The ceremonial activity was attended by Dr. Marvin Quilates, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer of DA-RFO 1 in Pangasinan, Engr. Sara Mae Pajena, Engineer I of ATI-ITCPH; Mr. Justino Madarang, Municipal Agriculturist and Hon. Virgillo F. Vallarta, Municipal Vice Mayor of Infanta; Pangasinan, and Dr. Jayvee Bryan G. Carillo, OIC Center Director of ATI-RTC 1. The SWAIB project is part of ongoing efforts to empower local farmers and strengthen the agricultural sector.
