DAET, Camarines Norte โ Joining the celebration of the successful empowerment of the coconut industry and strengthening its network, the DA- Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) CALABARZON participated in the closing ceremony of โSustainable Development and Good Agricultural Practices in the Philippine Coconut Supply Chain Project (SDGCoco)โ held on November 14 at Pineapple Island Resort in this town.
Implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft fรผr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the SDGCoco aims to enhance the livelihoods of coconut farmers in Laguna, Quezon, and Camarines Norte by focusing on improving social, economic, and environmental practices within the coconut supply chain.
With the theme โPadagos: Sustaining the Coconut Journey,โ the culmination highlighted the projectโs notable accomplishment as it capacitated 526 farmers and 23 trainers in the abovementioned provinces.
As one of the public partners for the program, DA-ATI CALABARZON through its staff Mr. Archie Linsasagin (ISS) and Ms. Jene Michelle Macalagay (CDMS), together with DA-ATI Central Office and DA-ATI Bicol, distributed IEC and CFIDP corporate materials to participating coconut farmers.ย
ATI also received knowledge products entitled Coconut Farm Business and Good Agricultural Practices Trainer's Manual, Workbook and Record Book, and Coconut Production Guide from the project to further strengthen its training programs and support the development of its clientele.
Another government partner, the Philippine Coconut Authority Region IV-A and Bicol, as well as private partners namely Franklin Baker Company of the Philippines, Symrise, and The Absolut Company through Malibu, participated in the event.
