Center Director Pat Andrew B. Barrientos of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA led the awarding of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools to the three Farmers and Information Technology Services (FITS) Centers in Romblon on June 4, 2024, as part of their enhancement.
The FITS Enhancement aims to improve the capacity and capabilities of FITS Centers in delivering agricultural extension services, empowering local farmers with access to modern technology and information resources.
FITS-Calatrava, FITS-San Agustin, and FITS-Romblon received equipment such as laptops, portable speakers, printers, projectors, cameras, and televisions, among others.
In his message, Dir. Barrientos extended his heartfelt gratitude to the FITS Centers for their commitment to implementing the Techno Gabay Program (TPG) in their localities.
“With the provided resources, you are expected to improve and intensify your delivery of the TGP services to your clients in in the province,” he said.
Besides awarding ICT equipment, Ms. Roseanne D. Nilo, Media Production Specialist II of ATI-MIMAROPA also briefed the enhanced FITS Centers on their responsibilities, including the submission of their monthly reports.
Also present during the activity were Mr. Raymund J. Moratin, Municipal Agriculture Officer of Romblon; Mr. Noel F. Falcutila, Municipal Agriculture Officer of Calatrava; Ms. Grace Ellen Culpa, FITS-Calatrava Manager; Ms. Ruby M. Murchante, Municipal Agriculture Officer of San Agustin; and Engr. Max Famaran, FITS-San Agustin Manager.
