To celebrate Women’s Month, all ATI-MIMAROPA staff gathered and conducted a brief program on March 8, 2024, at CAFÉ Hall A, ATI MIMAROPA, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
Center Director Pat Andrew B. Barrientos delivered his message during the program, emphasizing the significant role that women play in society and expressing his respect for their rights. He also stressed the importance of equal rights for everyone, especially for women, in all fields.
To draw inspiration, selected staff from the Center also expressed their reflections on what empowers them as women and the people who influence their identities, namely, Ms. Cristina G. Magnaye, Training Specialist III; Ms. Josephine D. Umali, Information Officer III; Ms. Shaina Casapao, Technical Support Staff; and Ms. Divina Bañanola, Administrative Support Staff.
“An empowered woman embraces her strength, acknowledges and works on her weaknesses, and pursues her goals with determination, continuously striving for personal and professional development. I believe in my abilities, stand up for my rights, am firm in my decisions, and contribute to my community the best I can,” Ms. Magnaye shared.
After the short program, the female personnel also participated in various fun games organized by the Administrative and Finance Unit. Moreover, as a gesture of respect and admiration for their abilities and sacrifices as women, they were serenaded and given flowers by their male colleagues.
In addition to the games, the Center has planned the following activities for the celebration of Women’s Month:
• March 14, 2024 – Quiz Bee
• March 26, 2024 – AgriTalk on VAWC and GAD
This year’s theme, “LIPUNANG PATAS SA BAGONG PILIPINAS: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!” signifies that women are given equitable opportunities and not hindered by gender biases and discriminatory stereotypes. It also aims to showcase and harness the full potentials of women and girls in actively engaging in and reaping the benefits of national growth and development.
