ATI-MIMAROPA Spearheads the Quarterly TGP Meeting

Paul Axtell says, “Meetings are at the heart of an effective organization, and each meeting is an opportunity to clarify issues, set new directions, sharpen focus, create alignment, and move objectives forward.”

Thus, the Agricultural Training Institute in MIMAROPA through the Information Services Section led by its Techno Gabay Program (TGP) Coordinator Mr. Erlan D. Pasana conducted a Quarterly TGP Meeting on July 29, 2022, via Google meet.

The said online meeting aims to harmonize the implementation of the TGP activities in the region as well as refresh the Partner Agencies (PA), FITS Centers’ staff, and Magsasaka Siyentista (MS) on the agreements of the TGP Summit 2021.

During the meeting, Mr. Pasana informed the FITS staff, PA representatives, and MS about the schedule of the remaining TGP targets/activities in the region such as FITS Center Establishment, FITS Center Enhancement, Magsasaka Siyentista Evaluation, FITS Center Monitoring, FITS Kiosk/Barangay Kiosk Evaluation, and TGP Summit 2022. Also, he discussed the requirements and the evaluation process for the establishment of the FITS Kiosk.

As partners in the implementation of the TGP, the FITS-Calatrava, and FITS-Narra committed to endorse Learning Site for Agriculture and Barangay Local Government Unit that will qualify for FITS Kiosk. The FITS Kiosk will serve as a satellite facility of the FITS Centers.

Moreover, FITS-OPAg Marinduque and FITS-Roxas, Palawan said that they will recommend farmer applicants for MS. The MS will serve as FITS Centers’ partner in the promotion of agriculture and fisheries technologies and best practices.

To motivate them to do their functions and responsibilities, the top three (3) FITS Centers and MS who have submitted complete Monthly Narrative Reports (MNR) were awarded prepaid load during the activity.

In addition, it was agreed by the FITS staff that the TGP Summit 2022 which was tentatively set for the first week of September will be conducted face-to-face (in-person training). This is to strengthen the camaraderie among the staff and boost their efforts in delivering quality extension services.

To wrap up the meeting, they were reminded of their responsibilities to be complied with and submitted to the Center, especially the MNR. Further, they were informed that they could request IEC materials to reinforce information dissemination of the FITS Centers during the conduct of their actual activities in their respective municipality.

This was the second Quarterly TGP Meeting implemented for this year after the first meeting on March 29, 2022.
