To avail of the various interventions from the government, Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) should know how to write an effective proposal. But how to write a winning proposal?
To address this question, the Agricultural Training Institute in MIMAROPA successfully conducted two (2) batches of Training on Proposal Writing for AEWs at Lola’s Healthy Farm, Brgy. Poblacion, Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro and Blue Pebbles Beach Resort, Brgy. Poblacion, Alcantara, Romblon on August 9-11, 2022 and August 16-18, 2022, respectively.
During the 3-day training, Planning Officer Mel D. Manalo of ATI-MIMAROPA shared his expertise on the basics of writing a Training Design. Also, the participants learned from his discussion about Training Needs Assessment and Training Tasks.
ATI-MIMAROPA former Assistant Center Director Ruben P. Jugno was also tapped as a Resource Speaker for the training. Mr. Jugno discussed the topics of Understanding Training as Extension Service, Adult Learner and Adult Learning, and Presentation and Facilitation Skills.
According to the participants, they appreciated the topics included in the training, particularly on Problem Tree Analysis facilitated by Dr. Franklin Bel T. Isip, Supervising Statistical Analyst of the Local Government of Caramoan. Moreover, Dr. Isip explained the elements of an effective proposal.
Mr. Mateo Angelo A. Gaudier, AEW, Municipal Agriculture Office of San Jose shared “Nagpapasalamat ako dahil naipadala po kami sa Training on Proposal Writing. Malaking tulong po ito sa amin dahil kami ay bagong AEWs sa mga barangay. Ngayon, alam na po namin ang mga tips kung paano gumawa ng winning proposal. Nagpasalamat po kami sa lahat ng RPs na nagbahagi ng kanilang kaalaman sa amin.”
At the end of the training, the participants were able to prepare drafts of agriculture and fishery extension proposals based on the needs of their respective municipalities.
A total of 39 AEWs from the different municipalities in the Provinces of Occidental Mindoro and Romblon attended the training.
