Farmers and Youth training on Digital Technologies

A total of 20 young farmers and farmer leaders successfully graduated from the Training on Digital Agriculture Course conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA on May 29-30, 2023, at Odiongan Sato Hotel in Odiongan, Romblon.

The training aims to equip the young farmers and leaders in Odiongan, Romblon with digital literacy and encourage them to utilize agriculture applications, e-commerce platforms, as well as social media to boost their farming productivity and income.

OIC-Provincial Agriculturist, Engr. Al F. Fetalver of the Provincial Agriculture Office-Romblon, and Municipal Agriculturist, Mr. Rexford F. Famisaran of the Municipal Agriculture Office-Odiongan graced the opening program of the training.

“We need to focus on farm digitization and modernization, and one aspect of this is the utilization of agricultural applications by our farmers. As young farmers and farmer leaders, you are more technologically savvy with gadgets, and as such, you will be the government's partners in teaching them,” Engr. Fetalver said.

Mr. Erlan D. Pasana, Information Officer II; Mr. Mark Jayson S. Alcobera, Technical Support Staff III; and Mr. John Eric V. Arguelles, Technical Support Staff II from ATI-MIMAROPA served as Resource Persons for the two-day activity.
