On November 13, 2023, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA launched the Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) Center in LGU-Sta. Maria, Romblon.
Present during the activity were Center Director Pat Andrew B. Barrientos, M.M., J.D. of ATI-MIMAROPA; Hon. Lorilie M. Fabon, Mayor of LGU-Sta. Maria; Engr. Ramel Lucas F. Fabon of the Municipal Agriculture office – Sta. Maria; Information Officer II/TGP Point Person Mr. Erlan D. Pasana; and several farmer-leaders.
Highlights of the launching included the turnover of ICT equipment such as a desktop computer, DSLR camera, and Bluetooth speaker. Moreover, Mr. Pasana discussed the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) and its components, as well as the responsibilities of the FITS staff during the said activity.
The FITS Center will serve as a one-stop office facility of the municipality with its main function being to provide ready access to IEC materials and services for farmers and youth, among others.
