The Agricultural Training Institute MIMAROPA awarded Information Communication Tool (ICT) equipment to Farmers Information and Technology Services Center (FITS) - Taytay as part of its enhancement program under the Rice Crop Manager (RCM) on October 27, 2022.
Municipal Administrator Mr. Robinson Morales graced the awarding ceremony. In his message, he emphasized the importance of the government’s support in achieving farmers’ productivity.
During the activity Mr. Erlan D. Pasana, Information Officer II/Techno Gabay Program Point Person briefed the FITS staff on their responsibilities as one of the enhanced FITS Centers in the region including the submission of monthly reports.
The highlight of the activity was the turnover of the ICT equipment to FITS-Taytay. The said FITS Center received office equipment such as laptop, printer, flatbed scanner, and projector.
As the nearest community information hub to stakeholders, the said equipment will be used by the FITS Center in the implementation of the Techno Gabay Program services as well as in the deployment of RCM in the municipality. In return, they will generate a minimum of 100 RCM recommendations per cropping season.
Also present in the awarding were Mr. Hernan P. Fenix, Municipal Agriculturist, Ms. Violeta Casipong, FITS Center Manager, and MAO staff.
“Ako ay nagpapasalamat sa pamunuan ng ATI sa patuloy na pagsuporta sa amin. Sa susunod na taon mas lalo naming hihigitan ang mga tungkulin na nakaatang sa amin. Sa pamamagitan ng aming FITS Center, we will transform our farmers to become knowledgeable practitioners,” Mr. Fenix said.
FITS-Taytay is the 8th FITS Center enhanced on RCM in Palawan and 22nd in the MIMAROPA Region.
