Geared for a modernized agriculture, the ATI MIMAROPA conducted two batches of Digital Farmers Program (DFP) 102 in Occidental Mindoro on October 26 and 27, 2022 at Adventure Camp Beach Resort, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro and Lola’s Healthy Farm, Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro.
DFP 102 is the second level of the ladderized digital literacy program of ATI in partnership with Smart Communications, Inc. that aims to encourage farmers to utilize technologies in farming. This course particularly focuses on using advanced agri apps, e-commerce, online payment, and comprehensive social media marketing for agribusiness.
The activity consisted lecture on different agriculture application tools and social media applications. What made the activity more engaging was the hands-on and actual exploration of mobile or advanced digital applications. They also experienced designing creative social media content such as poster of their products using Canva. Moreover, they crafted their social media marketing plan as part of the output of the activity.
The participants were also informed on different e-commerce platforms to which they could sell and market their products. Further, they also became aware on the mobile money such as Maya and the benefits they could gain on the said application.
“Kahit ako’y matanda na ay sinisikap at inihahanda ko ang aking sarili na patuloy pa rin akong matuto sa natutuklasan natin. May mga wondrous moments pa rin na naiipagkaloob sa atin katulad ng pagsasanay na ito na ma-aaamaze na lang ako na ganito na pala – may e-commerce na tayo, mobile money at iba pa,” he cheerfully expressed.
Graduates of DFP 102 are expected to be trained through the last level of the program - DFP 103.
A total of 50 participants attended the from the said activities.
