In a proactive move to ensure the safety and well-being of its staff and clients, the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) MIMAROPA has partnered with the Bureau of Fire Protection - Naujan for a comprehensive Fire Safety and Prevention Seminar, including a live fire drill.

Fire safety is a matter of utmost importance, particularly in a dynamic environment like the ATI, where various agricultural and training activities are conducted regularly. Recognizing this, the ATI MIMAROPA has taken the initiative to equip its staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent and respond effectively to fire emergencies.

The said activity is designed to cover a wide range of topics, including fire prevention measures, fire safety protocols, the proper use of firefighting equipment, and evacuation procedures.

One of the highlights of the seminar is the live fire drill wherein the ATI staff were given hands-on experience in using fire extinguishers under the guidance of BFP personnel to control small, controlled fires. The drill simulated various fire scenarios that could occur on agricultural premises, helping participants understand the importance of swift and effective responses.

In addition to use of fire extinguisher, the BFP team demonstrated the use of fire blankets and fire hoses, giving participants a well-rounded understanding of fire safety equipment. The active participation of the ATI staff and trainees in the drill showcased their commitment to fire safety and their willingness to learn essential life-saving skills.

Mr. Norberto C. Maur, Assistant Center Director of ATI MIMAROPA expressed his gratitude to the BFP - Naujan for their collaboration and emphasized the importance of fire safety training for the staff and clients of the Center. "Since we are in a training institution, it is good that we can also ensure the safety of our clients", he added.
