“Ang Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) enhancement thru provision of Information Communication Technology (ICT) equipment ay malaking bagay sa amin sa pagpapalawak ng impormasyon tungkol sa Rice Crop Manager,” said Mr. Jehu Michael Q. Barrientos, Municipal Agriculturist and FITS Manager of FITS-Rizal, Occidental Mindoro during the turnover of ICT equipment such as printer, photocopying machine, metal racks and tables on October 26, 2022. Said equipment is part of the catalytic fund of FITS Center enhancement under RCM Program.
FITS enhancement aims to improve the services and capabilities of FITS Centers through the integration and institutionalization of RCM deployment in the locality. In addition, with the granted ICT equipment, it is expected to strengthen their RCM activities and increase the number of farmers who will be benefited with RCM-generated recommendations which will be used in their farming practices.
Mr. Barrientos likewise said that aside from RCM program, the provided ICT equipment will be of great help for the reproduction of Information Education and Communication (IECs) to be disseminated to farmers for easier access of information and technology.
With this enhancement, Mr. Barrientos expressed their gratitude to ATI MIMAROPA for continuously assisting the LGUs in the delivery of extension services in the locality.
FITS-Rizal is the 21st FITS Center in the region that has been enhanced by ATI MIMAROPA under the RCM Program.
