In collaboration with the Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO), the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA conducted the last batch of the Training on Beef Cattle Production and Enterprise Development at Lola’s Healthy Farm, Inc. on October 22-24, 2024.

The training, designed to support the Livestock Economic Enterprise Development (LEED) Program, equipped participants with the necessary skills  in proper beef cattle management practices. It provided discussions on various relevant topics such as the current status and potential of cattle production, breeds and their characteristics, housing and management practices, and disease prevention and control, among others.

Dr. Emmanuel D. Mago, Associate Professor at Cavite State University, also lectured participants on upgrading existing cattle breeds through crossbreeding and modern technologies such as artificial insemination.

ATI-RTC MIMAROPA Center Director Pat Andrew B. Barrientos graced the second day of the activity and encouraged participants to take full advantage of the available resources, specifically the programs implemented by ATI, to help them improve their farm practices.

As the highlight of the training, the participants performed hands-on activity in preparing Urea Molasses Mineral Blocks and Silage, considering the nutritional value needed by the cattle for optimal growth.

A total of 28 participants, members of the Tagumpay Green Forest Community-Based Forest Management, completed the training and received Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials related to the livestock program.
