The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA, through its Information Services Section (ISS) conducted the Yearn to Learn: Brown Bag Session for ATI MIMAROPA Staff at ATI-RTC MIMAROPA, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, on November 8, 2024.
This activity aimed to educate ATI-MIMAROPA staff about the new eLearning website and its key components. Mr. Michael Javen Jugno, Training Support Staff III, served as the resource person for this topic and guided the participants throughout the entire website navigation process, from registration, enrolling in an online course, answering the lessons in the course, and completing the course.
As their output, the participants completed the online course on Rambutan Production, making them gain new knowledge about the said commodity and earning a certificate of completion.
Meanwhile, Ms. Yvette Geroleo, Training Support Staff I, discussed the basics of writing impactful success stories, the important reminders on conducting interviews, and the do’s and don'ts in data gathering to ensure the completion and accuracy of the information. She also divided the participants into pairs to work on an activity of identifying the parts of the success stories published on the center’s website.
At the end of the training, the participants expressed their gratitude for the activity, as this enabled them to attain new skills and knowledge on the topic discussed. Mr. Archie Bacay from the Supply Unit shared that his time in the activity was well spent; it was a productive day as he learned the basics of writing a success story and exploring the new eLearning website.
"Noong una, wala akong idea. "Ano ba yung Brown Bag na yun? Sa pre-test wala talaga akong alam, ano kaya ang isasagot ko. Pero noong nakinig na ako, unti-unti natutunan ko iyong mga dini-discuss sa amin. Iyon pala ay tungkol sa pagbibigay ng kaalaman upang lumawak ang ating kaisipan, tulad na lang sa paggawa ng story, upang mamotivate tayo na sumulat din, upang makatulong sa ating sarili, sa kapwa at sa ating bansa. Natutunan ko din yung pageexam sa mga module (e-learning), napakahirap magbasa at magsagot, pero napakaganda, kasi habang nagbabasa ka, natuto din tayo,” he said.
A total of 10 ATI-MIMAROPA staff attended the activity.
