Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro – The Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) in MIMAROPA successfully conducted a series of engaging activities in celebration of ATI’s 38th Founding Anniversary, themed “Youth in Agriculture: Cultivating Innovations through Partnerships.” The festivities were held at ATI-RTC MIMAROPA, Barcenaga, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro from February 3-7, 2025.
The celebration started with a Blood Donation Drive on February 3, in partnership with the Philippine National Red Cross Oriental Mindoro Chapter. This initiative underscored the importance of community service, saving lives, and strengthening connections among the ATI staff.
The Center also conducted AgriTalk sessions on February 4-5 to provide valuable insights into agricultural advancements and opportunities. Senior Agriculturist Mr. Jayson N. Erondo discussed the guidelines for the establishment of Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA). Development Management Officer II Ms. Cristina P. Intong presented the International Internship Program, and Planning Officer II Mr. Mel D. Manalo discussed the programs and initiatives of the Center for the year 2025. Moreover, a Holy Mass was conducted to mark the institute’s milestone, bringing together employees in a moment of gratitude and reflection.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Quiz Bee competition, where four teams tested their knowledge and expertise in agriculture and ATI-related matters. Employees also participated in traditional Filipino games such as Chinese garter, tumbang preso, batuhang bola, and sipa, adding fun and camaraderie to the event.
The week-long celebration concluded with a Culmination Night on February 7, where ATI-MIMAROPA staff proudly donned modern-farmer attire. The event paid tribute to retired and former administrative and technical staff, recognizing their years of dedicated service to the institute.
In his message, Center Director Pat Andrew B. Barrientos emphasized the importance of perseverance and excellence in fulfilling the institute’s mission. He echoed the words of DA Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, urging the staff to “not just meet expectations, but to exceed them. No more excuses, aim higher. This 2025 is a year of tangible results.”
As a testament to their unwavering dedication, ATI-MIMAROPA staff who have served for 5, 10, and 15 years were honored with Loyalty Service Awards during the celebration.
