"Feeding Growth and Cultivating Connections”: ATI Bicol Joins 6th Bicol Agri Summit

PILI, Camarines Sur- The Agricultural Training Institute- Bicol (ATI Bicol) is thrilled to share the exciting highlights of the 6th Bicol Agri Summit, which took place at the Camarines Sur Convention Center in Pili, Camarines Sur, from July 27 to 29, 2023. The Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (CSCCI), in partnership with the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, organized this occasion to bring together business owners, experts, farmers, and agricultural enthusiasts.

The ATI Bicol proudly served as one of the event sponsors, backing five Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSA) booths and two booths for Rural- based Organizations such as the Rural Improvement Club and 4H Club of the Bicol Region. These are:

  • Viani Farm Resort showcased an array of delightful products, including dragon fruit, pili goodies, bignay juice, and other native fruits.
  • Deloverges Agri Farm presented a sustainable business opportunity in Taro (Gabi).
  • Dagooc Farm impressed visitors with healthy carbonated fruit juices.
  • Manuel's Garden Integrated Farm offered various processed herbal teas, fruit juices, and chips to tantalize taste buds.
  • Camarines Sur LSA, Inc. showcased the artistic displays of golden kuhol into a work of art.
  • The 4H Club of the Bicol Region showcases the innovative products of its youth members.
  • The RIC of Iriga came together and sold the agricultural products they produced on their farm.

The exhibits provided a platform for LSAs and RBOs to engage in sales and foster valuable connections with like-minded entrepreneurs, paving the way for potential collaborations and mutually beneficial partnerships. Throughout the event, attendees engaged in interactive activities, including exciting raffles and agriculture-related discussions from various government and non-government agencies.

The ATI Bicol took the opportunity to promote its programs and services, ensuring that attending farmers received valuable information to support their agricultural endeavors. ATI Bicol Media Production Specialist II Mr. Christian TR. Tosoc enthusiastically discussed the innovative Digital Farmers Program (DFP), while Mr. Alexander O. Vargas passionately discussed the wonderful opportunities of Coconut-Based Learning Sites for Agriculture (Coco-LSA).

One of the event's standout moments was the success of ATI Bicol technical staff member Ms. Rafaela Bajaro, who secured 3rd place in the Facebook reel competition titled "Anong Kwentong Agri Mo?". Additionally, 4Her, Ms. Angelica Porto, claimed first place in the contest.

The ATI Bicol thanked CSCCI and all its partners for making the wonderful occasion possible. They commit to continue serving the farmers with joy, camaraderie, and passion towards a prosperous agriculture for Bicol Region.
