Nabua, Camarines Sur – Aimed at capacitating the farmer leaders under the Farm and Fisheries Clustering and Consolidation (F2C2), the DA-Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center V (DA-ATI Bicol) in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office No. 5 conducted a three-day Training on Farm Business Management.

Dr. Joey A. Belarmino, Chief, Partnerships and Accreditation Services Section encouraged the farmer leader participants to have their organizations accredited by the Department of Agriculture in order to avail appropriate interventions from the government. He reiterated the importance of the training in managing and maximizing their resources to increase profitability.

Frilliane Mae N. Bicaldo, Instructor and Director of Business Affairs Office and Jemirah Blessing B. Cantoria, CPA, Director, Office of Student Affairs Services of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture served as the Resource Persons of the activity. The course highlighted the essence of adapting the farm business to changes in the market to improve efficiency, profitability and income. Meanwhile, in terms of Administration and Supervision of Farms and Human Resources, the topics discussed included the networking and stakeholder linkages, bookkeeping, government reportorial, risk assessment, analysis and reduction and problem solving and troubleshooting which forms the foundation of a strong cooperative and association. Discussions on digital marketing and communication skills enabled the participants to understand its importance in an organization and in the current market situation. Christian TR. Tosoc, Media Production Specialist II, and Engr. Kristine O. Olila, Agriculturist II of ATI Bicol also served as resource persons.

The said activity was conducted last August 24 – 26, 2022 at Macagang Business Center, Nabua, Camarines Sur and participated in by twenty-three (23) Farmer Leaders. After the training, they are expected to re-echo their learnings to their co-officers in associations and cooperatives.
