GARCHITORENA, Camarines Sur- The DA-ATI has inked a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Department of Agrarian Reform, together with the Municipal Local Government of Garchotrena and the Department of Agriculture, for the training and other extension services of their Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Garchitorena, Camarines Sur.
Also included in the MOA was the Pag-iribang Paraoma Asin Parasira kan Del Pilar (PPAPDEL), an ARB Organization.
The MOA calls for collaboration in implementing Farm Business School (FBS) in two selected communities in the said town. The FBS is a season-long extension scheme to help farmers build their knowledge, enhance their skills and adjust their attitudes to make their farms profitable through practice and learning.
Garchitorena Mayor San Luis expressed her delight over the partnership as it aims to improve the living conditions in her town, which she described as the poorest town in the province. She also sought to reverse the prevailing trend in her town, which have to source its food requirements from nearby towns.
ATI Bicol Elsa Parot was represented by her Information Officer, Isagani Valenzuela, Jr. Other signatories were Engr. Rodel Martirez, OIC Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer I, Mr. Marcial Bustarga of DA-RFO 5 and Mr. Allan Bensing, President of PPADEL.
The MOA signing was held at Brgy. Del Pilar, Garchitorena, Camarines Sur last Spetember 20, 2022.
