DA-ATI Bicol Leads in HVCD Program, Places Third in Rice, RCEF

KALIBO, Aklan – The DA-ATI Bicol emerged as top extension provider in the High-Value Crops Development Program (HVCDP). It is also second runner-up in the Rice Program and the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Program (RCEF) extension services for the year 2022.

This was announced during the culmination activity of the ATI Commodity Banner Programs. Dubbed “Building A Foundation for Knowledge Creation for Banner Programs: Sharing of Best Practices and CY 2024 Planning Consultation,” the event took place at Kalibo, Aklan on December 7, 2022.

ATI OIC National Director Remelyn Recoter handed out the awards to the ATI Bicol contingent led by Center Director Elsa Parot together with ATI Bicol HVCDP Point Person Emmanuel Orogo, Rice Program Focal Person Kristine Olila, and Assistant Center Director and RCEF Coordinator Vivien Carable.

Physical and financial accomplishments formed the basis for the award. Aside from HVCDP, RCEF and Rice, the activity also evaluated the rest of the banner programs, namely Organic Agriculture, Corn Program, and Urban Agriculture.
