PILI, CAMARINES SUR — The Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center V (ATI Bicol) successfully concluded the five-day Resource Person Development Course: Social Mobilization Training for Rural-Based Organization (RBO) Officers and Coordinators on May 23, 2025, at Orosa Hall, ATI-RTC V, San Agustin, Pili, Camarines Sur.

The training aimed to enhance the capacity of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) and Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) cooperators to become competent and confident resource persons in their respective fields. A total of 25 participants completed the course.

During the first two days, participants engaged in lectures and workshops focused on adult learning principles, instructional design, effective communication, and facilitation skills. These inputs prepared them for their individual demo presentations, which were the highlight of the training.

Using a digital “wheel of fortune” to determine presentation order, each participant was allotted 45 minutes to demonstrate a self-prepared learning session. Participants were assessed by a panel of evaluators based on set criteria. Constructive feedback was given after every batch of presentations to ensure continuous improvement.

The 16-hour demonstration phase showcased the participants’ improved skills in developing instructional materials, designing learning activities, and delivering content with confidence and clarity. The course concluded with the completion of all presentations and reflection on learnings.

This initiative is part of ATI Bicol’s commitment to strengthen the Philippine Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System by building a pool of local experts who can effectively mobilize communities and transfer knowledge to grassroots stakeholders.
