Capacitating staff of Farmersโ Information and Technology Services (FITS) centers and agricultural extension workers (AEWs) in Region 1 with necessary knowledge and skills in developing information, education, and communication (IEC) materials, the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1) organized a Training Course on Knowledge Products Development on August 22-24, 2023 at ATI-RTC 1, Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
Twenty-one (21) FITS Center staff, AEWs, and private extension service provider (PESP) completed the course enabling them to acquire skills in writing, photography, editing and layouting, and social media content development and management.
The three-day training employed lectures, discussions, and series of workshops that allowed the participants to produce news stories, feature articles, poster, brochures, leaflets, and social media contents.
โI would rate this whole training with the word PREEMINENT because it was a total package for me. It helped me to unleash myself and let myself be drown to broader horizons of knowledge. I entered this room like a Tabula Rasa and now I am sure and confident that I will surely bring home the bacon of garnered knowledge to help my beloved Kabaleyang Dumaralos (Kababayang Magsasaka).โ, said by Ms. Georgette Bautista of LGU-San Jacinto, Pangasinan as she expressed her learnings and insights about the training.
The subject matter specialist of the training who facilitated the sharing of learning during various activities were Dr. Maricon C. Viduya, Director for Strategic Communication of the Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU); and staff from the Information Service Section of ATI-RTC 1 to include Mr. Alladin C. Tabo, Mr. Ralph Marco I. Cabrera, Mr. Raymark V. Lacambra, and Ms. Galilee L. Padua.
The conducted training was one of the initiatives of ATI-RTC 1 to continuously support FITS centers and local agriculture office in the region towards effective dissemination of various agriculture and fisheries information and technology through different communication strategies.
