
The Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (DA-ATI-RTC 1) took part in the awarding and inauguration of the Solar Pump Facility to FJA Integrated Farm located at Brgy. Bantug, Umingan, Pangasinan earlier today, January 24, 2025.
The activity took off with welcome remarks by Mr. Edwin Calderon, Municipal Agriculturist of Umingan, expressing gratitude to the attendees of the ceremonial activity.
Meanwhile, ATI-RTC 1 OIC Center Director Dr. Jayvee Bryan G. Carillo emphasized the significant contribution of the project in executing the vital role of the farm as a Learning Site for Agriculture (LSA) and partner of the DA-ATI-RTC 1 in extending services to the farming community in the town. He mentioned that the LSA will serve as an accessible venue for farmers who want to learn new farming technologies and practices.


In her inaugural speech, FJA Integrated Farm Owner Ms. Joeylyn Andaya first expressed her appreciation to the local government unit. She detailed also the assistance of the DA-ATI-RTC 1 for providing the necessary support for the enhancement of the farm as an LSA.
Ms. Andaya gave an overview of the project. She explained that the project’s objective is to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of water management systems by implementing solar-powered water pumps, providing a reliable, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solution for irrigation and water supply needs among its nearby farms.
To end the activity, the attendees of the event witnessed the cutting of the ribbon and blessing of the facility. An ending word was delivered by Brgy. Chairperson Mr. Mar Membrere, marking the culmination of the program and initiation of the project.
