‘A Day of Toast’: Celebrating 36 Years of Milestones

“As the capacity builder, knowledge bank, and catalyst of the agriculture and fisheries extension (AFE) system in the Ilocos region, we express our utmost appreciation to each of its pillar for constantly bringing positive results in the delivery of AFE services.”, Dr. Rogelio C. Evangelista, Center Director of the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (ATI-RTC 1), said during the Center’s celebration of the 36th Founding Anniversary of the Institute on January 27, 2023 at the ATI-RTC 1 Multipurpose Hall, Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

With this year’s theme of celebration, “ATI LEADS: Innovate, Transform, Empower (Embracing Extension Modernization for a Progressive and Sustainable Agriculture and Fisheries)”, ATI-RTC 1 aimed to share the accomplishments, best practices, and innovations with its stakeholders in the region. The one-day activity served also as an avenue to award various interventions and to recognize partner institutions and individuals for their commendable efforts and contributions in the attainment of the Center’s goal for the previous years.

The activity was graced by almost 150 individuals from the different National Government Agencies (NGAs), State Universities and Colleges, City/Municipal/Barangay Local Government Units, Learning Sites for Agriculture (LSAs), Farmers Associations, Rural-based Organizations (RBOs), and media practitioners.

Among the highlights of the activity were the following:

  1. Thanksgiving Mass and Dedication of ATI-RTC 1 Facilities;
  2. Presentation of the Center’s 2022 Highlights of Accomplishments and Best Extension Practices;
  3. Soft Launching of the PAlayTIMPALAK Program Document;
  4. Ceremonial Awarding of Support and Assistance to the following:
    1. CY 2022 PAlayTIMPALAK Winners;
    2. Newly Certified LSAs;
    3. Young Agripreneurship Program Winners; and
    4. Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers.
  5. Sambayanang Itinataguyod Kaalamang Agrikultura at Pangisdaan (SIKAP) Awards;
  6. Loyalty Awards; and
  7. Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Awards.
