The Department of Agriculture-Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center 1 (DA-ATI-RTC 1) spearheaded a Training Course on Knowledge Products Development (Basic Video Editing) on September 2-4, 2024 at DA-ATI-RTC 1, Tebag East, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
The training aims to capacitate the staff of Farmersโ Information and Technology Services (FITS) Centers in Region 1 with the necessary knowledge and skills on knowledge product development, specifically about the basics of video production. A total of 23 FITS Center staff, including 19 Information Services Specialists (ISS) and Technology Services Specialists (TSS) and four (4) Magsasaka Siyentista, completed the training.
The three-day training workshop revolved around the stages of video production, enabling the participants to learn how to produce effective video materials. The staff from the Information Services Section of the DA-ATI-RTC 1 served as the resource persons for the training.
Mr. Alladin C. Tabo, Information Officer II, discussed the stages of video production, the importance of video materials in the context of adult learning, and the types of video materials commonly used in agriculture and fisheries extension services. Mr. Tabo also demonstrated how to draft the video production guide, script, and timeline, which are necessary during the pre-production stage.
Afterward, Mr. Raymark V. Lacambra, Media Production Assistant, shared practical tips on how to capture videos and important notes and reminders during the production stage. He also introduced the โProshow Producerโ as editing software for making slideshow.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ralph Marco I. Cabrera, Media Production Specialist II, led the participants to navigate โAdobe Premiere Proโ as editing software for manipulating raw videos, music, recorded audio, and other elements needed to produce video.
The second day of the training was held at the Reotutar Institute of Science, Arts, and Trades Inc. (RISATI) in Villasis, Pangasinan-an ATI accredited National Extension Service Provider and ATI-RTC 1โs newly established FITS Kiosk. The participants were grouped into five (5) and were deployed in five different technologies available at RISATI, allowing them to demonstrate skills during the production stage. Ultimately, each group was able to produce a one-minute video material about the technology assigned to them.
Each participant developed a re-entry plan for their output that maps out the actions in applying their newly acquired knowledge and skills. Most of them planned to develop video materials that contain knowledge about agricultural and fishery technologies present in their locality. Some of them also eyeing to produce promotional videos of FITS Center services.
