The Agricultural Training Institute - Regional Training Center - Cordillera Administrative Region (ATI-RTC-CAR) hosted a vibrant and informative orientation event for the newly selected grantees and farm partners of the Youth Internship Program on Organic Agriculture (YIPOA) on March 24, 2025.
This significant event marked the beginning of a promising journey for the young grantees, who are set to gain hands-on experience and contribute to agricultural development in the region.
Further, the event kicked off with a warm welcome from Mr. Charlie C. Sagudan, ATI-RTC-CARβs Center Director. He expressed enthusiasm about the potential the grantees can bring to the agricultural sector. He emphasized the importance of youth involvement in agriculture, acknowledging their crucial role in transforming the industry, promoting sustainability, and ensuring food security in the region.
In its third batch, the internship program aims to provide the youth interns with the necessary skills, knowledge, and the right attitude to thrive in their agricultural careers. Through this initiative, ATI hopes to foster a new generation of agriprenuers who will contribute to the regionβs economic growth and development.
Mr. Edwin Dicksen, Organic Agriculture Focal of ATI-RTC-CAR provided orientation of the internship program highlighting the rationale, guidelines, schedule of activities, roles and responsibilities, and other necessary information needed before the pre-deployment and signing of the Memorandum of Agreement.
The orientation event allowed participants to connect, collaborate, and foster a sense of community among the diverse grantees.
