CAR YIPOAs Draft their Farm Business Proposals

The Youth Internship Program on Organic Agriculture (YIPOA) Recipients of CAR undergoes training and writeshop on farm business proposals taking a step closer in building their farm businesses

The three-day training provided technical assistance to the YIPOA Interns and Farm Partners to ensure viable  and sustainable business enterprise operations. Hence, enabling them to comprehend the principles of Farm Business or enterprise towards profitability in their fields.

ATI-RTC-CAR Organic Agriculture Focal Person, Mr. Edwin C. Dicksen imparted knowledge on the components of Farm Business Plan to ensure appropriate and proper farm business management and operations. Moreover, a writeshop was facilitated to integrate the application and learnings of the participants in making their respective farm business/enterprise plan. Outputs were presented by selected participants with comments and suggestions from the management.

During the closing program, ATI-RTC-CAR Training Center Director, Mr. Charlie C. Sagudan highlighted the importance of the involvement of youth in organic agriculture.  He strongly believes in the power of the youths to lead innovative solutions for improving organic farming practices and foster a new generation of farmers and entrepreneurs. Moreover, words of encouragement in the engagement to the program were expressed.

With the demands in the changing landscape in agriculture, such programs and training will capture the youth to take part in the setting. The ATI believes that engaging youth in organic agriculture would truly help address future food security challenges by promoting diverse, resilient farming systems. Furthermore, youth can act as catalysts for local food movements, connecting consumers with local farmers and promoting community-supported agriculture.

The training was recently conducted on August 13-15, 2024 at Gladiola Center, Km 5, BSU, La Trinidad, Benguet.//Glory T. Anongos, Jherry Ann O. Basis, and Aldrin P. Sagao (CDMSS Technical Support Staff)
