Five CLSU interns visited DarJanes, a Farm Family recipient under the RBO Program on March 18, 2025, to experience and expose students to the functionalities of a farm family agri-enterprise program.

During the visit, Ms. Jane Montes, co-owner of the DarJanes Garden entertained the interns and gave a short briefing how DarJanes came into existence. She narrated that DarJanes coined from the owner’s first names β€œDario” (Husband) and β€œJane” (Wife). Accordingly, DarJanes means of livelihood is cutflower production. They, together with their neighbors’ produce were being sold at Dangwa in Manila. Mr. Dario Montes tried to shift to sunflower production targeting valentines day. However, due to cold weather, the sunflower did not bloom in time for Valentines Day. Just a week before the pandemic, he opens the garden to the public as a tourist attraction. Blessing in disguise, the Vloggers turned the garden into unexpected results, turning the garden into a vlogger's haven – attracting individuals and groups who wanted to unwind and chillax.

The Farm Family is a program that acknowledges that agriculture is a family affair involving the father, mother, and child or children under the PAP4FF. The Philippine Action Plan for Farming Families (PAP4FF) emphasized that agriculture is a family affair. Phases in food production adhering to the value chain cannot be done by one person alone in the family. Every member should hone his skills in agri-fishery production for a collaborative effort in helping one another to achieve their goal. DarJanes Garden is one of the recipients of this program showcasing this kind of agri-enterprise.
