ATI-RTC-CAR kicked off the 10th National Organic Agriculture Month with the 3rd Regional Kabataang OA Quiz Bee, held on November 4, 2024. The event saw participation from various SUCs across the region, with Ms. Jemica Licyayo from Ifugao State University emerging as the champion among 15 students.
Mhel Balucon of Apayao State College took 2nd place, followed by Crizelle Valiente in 3rd and Tshena Bautista in 4th, also from Apayao State College. Janielle Chan from Benguet State University placed 5th.Β They all received certificates, medals, plaques of recognition, tokens, and cash awards based on their rankings.
The students competed in the Elimination Round to determine the top 8 contestants. Consequently, the top 8 contestants took pressure during the three-level category of questions to determine the top 5 who would clinch in the final round to take first place.
Licyayo is set to represent CAR on the National Kabataang OA Quiz Bee on November 14, 2024, competing against representatives of other 15 RTCs of the country.
This yearβs OA Month Celebration was themed βKabuhayang OA, Kinabukasang OK: Pinalakas para sa Bagong Pilipinas.β
The said regional quiz bee was attended by student representatives and coaches from Apayao State College, Benguet State University, Kalinga State University, Ifugao State University, and Abra State Institute of Science and Technology.//EzraΒ James O. Felix, CDMS Technical Support Staff
