The ATI-RTC-CAR, through the initiative of the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Unit (PMEU) headed by Ms. Brandy Banda-ay, conducted the “Joint DA-ATI-RTC-CAR and DA-RFO-CAR Regional ESETS Consultation for FY 2025 and FY 2026 Work and Financial Plans” with partner LGUs held on February 20-21, 2025 at the Aspulan Hall, ATI-RTC-CAR, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The activity aimed at strengthening agricultural extension services in the region and at the same time aligning the efforts of DA agencies and LGUs to ensure a more effective and efficient agricultural extension system.
The activity was attended by banner program focal point persons from the Provincial Local Government Units (PLGUs) and the Municipal Local Government Units (MLGUs) of the Cordillera Administrative Region. Partner representatives from the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), the Bureau of Plant Industry—National Seed Quality Control—CAR (BPI-NSQC-CAR), and the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) are also present.
This annual activity served as a convergence point for agricultural extension interventions of DA–RFO–CAR and ATI–RTC–CAR with partner LGUs. It ensures that all interventions align with the program's thrusts and priorities of the Department of Agriculture.
Presentations of the banner programs for FY 2025 Plans and Budget were presented on the first day. The consolidated agreements during the previous consultation (FY 2024) were also presented. In addition, the participants were updated on the Unified Extension System (UnExSys), the Civil Society Organization Accreditation (CSO), and the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).
The breakout session was conducted on the second day for the participants to consult with their partner banner focal point persons from DA-RFO-CAR and ATI-RTC-CAR.
During the closing program, Ms. Miriam Pastor, Sr. Agriculturist of DA-RFO thanked the participants for both the online and onsite for the very fruitful two-day activity. “Our outputs through the Training Needs Survey (TNS) from our AEWs and farmers should be programmed by the ATI-RTC-CAR or DA-RFO-CAR for 2025 and 2026 to answer the needs of our primary stakeholders,” she concluded.
A total of 130 participants attended the said activity.
