Twenty-six (26) AEWs and LSA Cooperators completed their Training of Trainers on Digital Farmers Program at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Apayao State College, Luna Campus, Apayao on May 15-16, 2024.

The training aimed to equip the AEWs in the local government units and ATI-Accredited Learning Sites in implementing the Digital Farmers Program in their respective areas of concern.

Dr. Ronald O. Ocampo, ASC Vice President for Academic, Research, and Extension Services welcomed the group and expressed his intention that the activity would serve as a starting point for more collaborations and partnerships between the ASC, ATI, LGUs and LSAs.

Mr. Maximino R. Aromin, OIC TCS I and ISS Chief thanked all of the participating ASC, LGUs and LSAs for their sustained support to the training programs of the Center.

Topics shared during the training include Internet safety, social media management, social media marketing and e-commerce, and various agri-applications. They also went through basic smartphone photography, and social media content creation using Canva with the aim of building and enhancing their social media presence. They also took note of the importance of taking good photos for a certain purpose and not just randomly taking photos to create effective social media content.

During the closing program, Ms. Ruthlyn Basta, Office of Extension Services, ASC-Luna, Apayao expressed that it is her first time to attend a Training of Trainers type of training. She said that ASC has been doing training activities but they have not gone yet to this level. She realized that there are lot of information to learn about our cellphones. “There are still a lot of utilities and applications that we can use whether we are doing marketing, production, or extension services. For example, it is only now that I learned that we can do slide presentations in Canva, and is even better when it comes to aesthetics,” she exclaimed.
