ATI Cordillera Readies FYFIPT Batch 5 Applicants: Conducts Pre-Qualifying Examination

The ATI-Cordillera through the Partnership and Accreditation Section (PAS) conducted the Pre-qualifying examination for the
search for the Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) last July 17, 2024 at the Sab-atan Hall, ATI-RTC-CAR, BSU Compd., La Trinidad, Benguet. Surprisingly, all the 10 applicants did their best and passed the said examination.

The applicants were given 2 hours to finish the exam after which, it was checked by the Focal person and the results were presented to the examinees. The activity started at 1:00 PM and ended at 6:00PM.

Ms. Veronica B. Siloy, the RBO Focal Person administered the said examination. Before the exam, Ms. Siloy oriented the applicants about the program. She also presented the Overview, objectives, and guidelines about the FYFIPT. Included in the discussion were the basic qualifications, documentary requirements, Pre-Departure Orientation Course requirements, training proper in Taiwan requirements, post-evaluation requirements, and the Re-entry Plan. She also discussed explicitly the schedules and timeline of the program.

Before departing, Ms. Siloy announced that all applicants would be subjected to field validation to counter-check whether the information given and written in their application was authentic. The top 5-10 would serve as reserves for replacement in case anyone from the top 1-4 would not be able to pass the validation and pre-qualifying screening based on the given guidelines.

An online meeting would also be scheduled before the conduct of field validation to inform them of the necessary documents to prepare and the individual scheduled date which would be done from July 18-26, 2024. Completion of documents and requirements should be done by the applicants after the field validation.

ATI-RTCs shall endorse and recommend qualified applicants to the ATI-CO with complete requirements and documents on August 9, 2024.

The Filipino Young Farmers Internship Program in Taiwan (FYFIPT) is a partnership between the Department of Agriculture, Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) and Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines (TECO) through a Memorandum of Understanding. The partnership aims to enhance the relations through the implementation of an internship program for qualified young Filipino farmers. Generally, the program aims to develop deserving young Filipino farmers to become empowered farmer leaders and agricultural entrepreneurs.
