BSA Students concluded their Internship Program with a bang

Ten (10) students taking up Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Major in Extension Education of BSU were awarded a certificate of completion for successfully completing their 250 hours On-The-Job Training or Internship Program at the ATI-RTC-CAR. The student internship program started on June 5, 2023 and officially ended on July 14, 2023.

During their internship, the students were grouped into five groups (which represents also the weekly schedule) with two students per group rotated weekly for them to experience the real work situations relative to extension work from the different sections and units of the Center.  

For the Career Development Management Section, the interns were assigned as training assistants, report preparation using the Training Information Management Section (TMIS) – an online platform for real-time report submission at the Central Office. They also encode the Resource Person database. For the Partnership and Accreditation Section, the interns were able to do validation and monitoring of Learning Site, assist in the training activities, and also do the report preparation using the TMIS. For the Planning Monitoring and Evaluation Unit, the interns were tasked to do Data Filing Management, act as a task force for PMEU activities and assist in the conduct of SOA evaluation especially in the RBME. For the Information Services Section, they were tasked to assist in the ISS activities such as photo documentation, do article write-up and report preparation.  The interns were also assigned to Admin and Finance tasks such as supply management and other administrative concerns.

During the closing program, each intern shared the knowledge and skills gained, learning insights, and observations through a PowerPoint presentation.

A special award for the Best in Essay Writing and Highest evaluation rating from the Sections and Units was also given.

Dr. Cristine B. Esnara, OIC-TCS I, congratulated the interns as they embark on their next academic journey. She thanked the interns for sharing their great experiences while they were at ATI-RTC-CAR. She said that different sections represent different tasks for the fulfillment of rural development.

Dr. Jamesly Andres, the OJT Adviser, challenged the interns saying that "you are not only planting in the garden but molding the rural farmers to develop the countryside in order for it to be developed. The internship program helps and mold you not only in your Attitude, Skills, and Knowledge but will guide you for your future career."

The closing program was held at the Sab-atan Hall, ATI-RTC-CAR, BSU Compd., La Trinidad, Benguet.
