“This training can let me promote, sell, and market my product through online platform with less hassle and I as a farmer can be at par with the good pricing in the market” said Mr. Jerome Bisquerra of Bangued, Abra during the closing program of the Digital Farmers Program for Farmers conducted last April 17-18, 2023 with 24 farmer-participants.
For the month of April, the DA-ATI-RTC-CAR in partnership with the three LGU partners in the Region successfully conducted training on Digital Farmer’s Program (DFP for farmers. The LGUs of Itogon, Benguet; Bangued, Abra; and Sabangan, Mountain Province through their respective Office of the Municipal Agriculturist continuously helped increase the digital literacy of these farmers by knowledge and skills on how to use the basic digital tools for their agricultural activities.
The training aims to train farmers and equip them on the use of basic digital tools specifically the use of their smartphones in their agricultural activities and use their smartphones to promote and sell their products via online marketing.
Topics shared during the training include Smartphone 101 and accessing the internet; social media, social media marketing; e-commerce and digital transactions; basic and advanced agricultural apps, and photography.
For the municipality of Itogon, the DFP was conducted last April 12-14, 2023 with a total of 24 farmer participants while the municipality of Sabangan, Mt. Province has drawn 25 farmer participants last April 20-21, 2023.
