Tabuk City Dominates During the 9th Regional 4-H Convention

The 4-H Tabuk City emerged as the overall champion during the conduct of the 4-H Youth Regional Convention at the Benguet Agri-Eco Park, Bulala, Bayabas, Sablan, Benguet last May 17-19, 2024.

With a total of seven contests, contestants from Tabuk City were able to get all the top 1 except for the Agri-Tale contest where they got the third place.

Here are the results of the contest:

1. TrashFormation Contest

  • 1st place: Ariel Taclawan and Dezeree Calngan – Tabuk City
  • 2nd place: Caedyn Dayag – Baguio City
  • 3rd place: Raymart Agustin – Kalinga

2. Quiz Bee Contest

  • 1st place: Jeremy Padua – Tabuk City
  • 2nd place: Tshena Mae Bautista – Apayao
  • 3rd place: Jeremy Corpuz – Kalinga

3. Agri-Tale Contest

  • 1st place: Gwyneth Pooten – Baguio City
  • 2nd place: Darwin Likigan – Kalinga
  • 3rd place: Laurenze Taguibao – Tabuk City

4. Coconut-based Cooking Contest

  • 1st place: Tabuk City ( Lexyn Dawaton, Mark Jons Remigio, Wilbert Alsiyang, and Grace Soriano)
  • 2nd place: Baguio City(Neonick Kindipan, Yvonne Lusong, Iscyl Rain M. Guntan, and Darick C. Faroden)
  • 3rd place: Benguet( Leonave S. Aranas, Prince Lennard Mara, Anna Mae Layog, and Glency Tino)

5. Agri-Innovation Pitching Contest

  • 1st place: Giovanni Addatu – Tabuk City
  • 2nd place: Glency Tino – Benguet
  • 3rd place: Ronald Agbayani – Kalinga

6. Regional Excellence Achievers Award (REAA)

  • Heart: Vergel Solimen - Tabuk City
  • Health: Deanvee Madriaga – Tabuk City
  • Hands: No Entry
  • Head: No Entry

7. 𝗦𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗼𝗻: 𝗗𝘂𝗲𝘁

  • 1st place: Jaylord Ambasing and Brixton Nick B. Ambasing – Tabuk City
  • 2nd place: Ashleyh Rivera and Rhianna G. Waguis – Baguio City
  • 3rd place: Geraldene T. Baggas and Kriszel Joy A. Soriano – Kalinga

All the winners will represent CAR at the upcoming 71st Farm Youth 4-H National Convention which will take place at Dapa, Siargao Island, Surigao Del Norte this coming June 18-21, 2024.

The youth camp is conducted yearly focusing on leadership development, team building and collaboration, personal growth reflection focused on mental health awareness and hands-on farming exposure. Through hands-on activities, interactive workshops, and an outdoor expedition, participants will embark on a journey of self-discovery, innovativeness, camaraderie and environmental stewardship on good agriculture practices.

This year's youth camp is patterned to the National Convention's concept. The youth camp would also be an avenue to select the contestants who would represent the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) during the National 4-H Convention.

No delegates from Ifugao and Abra provinces.
