ATI Cordillera trains FFS Trainers on Inbred Rice and Mechanization

Thirty (30) aspiring FFS trainers from the provinces of Ifugao and Kalinga undergo the "Training of Trainers on Production of High-Quality Inbred Rice and Seeds and Farm Mechanization." The training aims to enable participants demonstrate the capability to effectively implement the Season-long Farmer Field School on the production of high-quality inbred rice and seeds, along with proficient knowledge in farm mechanization. 

To assess the participants' level of knowledge, a dynamic examination was administered. This allowed participants to gauge their understanding of various insect pests and diseases affecting rice crops. The training kicked off last March 14, 2024, which includes discussions on transformational leadership, Philippine Rice Industry Situationer and understanding RCEF and its implication to rice farmers. 

On the second and third day, Rice Morphology and growth stages, overview of the Palay Check System and Key checks one to four, and special topics with fertilizer computation were delivered. The mentioned topics were discussed by the tapped RCEF-LSA Operators and trainers. 

The said training will run from March 14-27, 2024, at Tabuk City, Kalinga.
