The ATI-CAR successfully conducted its annual Gender and Development (GAD) Learning Session through a learning exchange session with ATI-CALABARZON on March 5-7, 2025.

Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, Center Director of the ATI-CALABARZON warmly welcomed the staff at Gintong Bukid, one of their accredited Learning Site in Agriculture located in Nagcarlan, Laguna. Ms. Sherylou Alfaro, Assistant Center Director of ATI-CALABARZON facilitated a dynamic lecture and activity on “Leadership and Inclusivity in Innovation in the Workplace”. She highlighted that leadership isn’t just about authority but of influence, empathy and value; leadership is not a one-time initiative but a mindset and commitment because great leaders don’t just build strong teams, they build cultures where people thrive.

Additionally, the staff took time to visit their selected Learning Sites for Agriculture, Gintong Bukid and Bukid Amara and learn from their farming technologies and their best practices in training their co-farmers. Gintong Bukid showcased their sustainable organic farming practices while Bukid Amara showcased their amazing smart farming technologies.

The learning exchange provided valuable insights and inspiration for ATI-CAR staff, equipping them with new knowledge and strategies to enhance their GAD initiatives. As the Center continues to champion gender-sensitive leadership and program implementation, the lessons from this session will undoubtedly contribute to a more dynamic and inclusive work environment for the organization and the agriculture and fishery community.
